In an apparent warning, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that if anyone harasses women in the state, ‘Yamraj’ (the God of death) will wait for them. Speaking at an event in Gorakhpur, the CM said that the state government uses the law to provide security to all, but if someone infiltrates women’s protection in the state then no one will be able to stop them from being sent to ‘Yamraj’. CM Yogi was referring to a recent incident in Ambedkar Nagar where a girl died after she fell off her cycle when three bike-borne men pulled her stole (dupatta).
"We have said it before that laws will provide protection to every citizen. If someone harasses a daughter walking on the road…On the next crossroads ‘Yamraj’ will be waiting for them. Then no one will be able to stop from sending him to ‘Yamraj’..," the Chief Minister said.
