Here in McLeodganj, four friends had fun in the Bhagsu drain and one of their friends got washed away in the drain. Later his body was found 100 meters below. Dharamshala police has registered the case.
According to the information, a tourist from Punjab died in Bhagsu drain under McLeodganj police station of Dharamshala. Amit Kumar of Jalandhar, Punjab, along with his four companions were bathing in the drain near Bhagsu Nag Waterfall. During this time the water level in the drain suddenly increased. All the friends collected their clothes and started crossing the drain. During this time a friend crossed the drain. But when 32-year-old Pawan Kumar, son of Rajendra Kumar, resident of Jalandhar, was crossing the drain, he was swept away in the strong current. During this time it was visible for 20 meters but after that it disappeared in the water. Later his body was found 100 meters away.
After receiving the information, ASI Rakesh Parmar, head constable Narjeev and constable Sunny reached the spot. Control Room Kangra has also been informed and District Disaster Management has also been informed. SDRF Kangra and local police searched for Pawan Kumar. Pawan’s body was recovered 100 meters below the accident site late in the evening. ASP Veer Bahadur has confirmed the matter.
