RBI Households Inflation Survey participants Says expect a rise in price especially for food product For Next three months

RBI Household Inflation Expectation Survey: According to RBI, in the survey conducted among the families regarding inflation, most of the people believe that an increase in inflation may be seen in the near term. People who participated in the RBI survey said that there may be a rise in the prices of food items in the next three months.

The Reserve Bank of India released the results of the Bi-Monthly Inflation Expectations Survey of Households (IESH) for January 2024, from which these things have come to light. If we look at the results of the survey, most of the people participating in the survey say that there may be a rise in inflation in the near term. However, compared to the previous round of survey, in this round of survey the number of people who believed that inflation will remain high in the period of one year has decreased.

Most of the families participating in the survey believe that high food prices will continue to haunt them for the next three months. According to them, there may be a rise in the prices of food products. This survey was conducted in 19 cities between 2 and 11 January 2024 in which 6062 families participated. 52.3 percent women have participated in this survey.

Inflation has also become a cause of concern for RBI. After the meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee on Thursday, February 8, 2024, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said that in the coming days, the direction of inflation will be decided based on the outlook of food inflation. The weather remains a risk for the Rabi crop. Due to global tension, on one hand we are facing supply chain problems and on the other hand, fluctuations in crude oil prices are also being seen. According to RBI, the inflation rate in 2024-25 is expected to be 4.5 percent.
