Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that India was partitioned under the Congress in 1947. Now Congress should go to Pakistan for ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. Rahul Gandhi should do this visit to Pakistan because India is united.

Sarma’s remarks came a day after the Congress leveled several corruption charges against him and his wife and wrote to the CBI seeking a probe into the allegations.

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee submitted a memorandum to the CBI in Delhi on Monday and staged a dharna at Jantar Mantar. It was attended by several top leaders including AICC in-charge Jitendra Singh and Assam unit chief Bhupen Kumar Bora.

AICC general secretary Jairam Ramesh had said, “My colleagues in Assam have demanded a CBI inquiry against the Assam CM on seven specific cases. Himanta Biswa Sarma is blessed with the Great BJP washing machine, but there is evidence against him. Is there any evidence against him? CBI will be allowed to do its job.”

The memorandum submitted to the CBI stated, “Assam Pradesh Congress Committee wishes to draw the attention of CBI, Government of India to the following important issues and requests to take immediate steps for immediate investigation by CBI. To ascertain the truth and their Your top priority is to take appropriate action against him.”
