Pakistan Former PM Imran Khan gets bail on 12 cases from Rawalpindi anti-terrorism court

After the election results in Pakistan, the country’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan has got double happiness. Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court has granted him bail in 12 cases. At the same time, former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has got bail in 13 cases related to terrorism. On May 9 last year, the army had arrested Imran Khan from Islamabad High Court. After this there were demonstrations all over the country. During this period there was violence at many places in Pakistan. After this violence, many cases of terrorism were registered against Imran Khan. Now he has got bail on a dozen cases.

Imran supporters had vandalized

Many videos of the violence that took place on May 9 last year had surfaced on social media. In these videos, Imran supporters were seen vandalizing many places. Imran supporters also vandalized the house of the Lahore Corps Commander and the Army General’s headquarters in Rawalpindi.

Imran was arrested last month

Rawalpindi Police had arrested Imran Khan last month in a dozen cases related to the violence on May 9. At the same time, Shah Mahmood Qureshi was also arrested by Rawalpindi Police in the month of December last year in 12 cases related to the violence that took place on the same day. During the hearing, Anti-Terrorism Court Justice Malik Asif Ijaz granted bail to Imran and Qureshi and rejected the petition for trial against them. Earlier on Friday, Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court had extended the bail till Sunday on the arrest of Imran in seven cases related to May 9.

In Pakistan elections, candidates supporting Imran have won more than 100 seats. However, even after two days of voting, the results of all the seats have not come. In such a situation, allegations of rigging in elections are being raised.
