Shimla. There will be bidding for VIP numbers for vehicles in Himachal Pradesh. This online bidding will take place on Monday. Anupam Kashyap, Director of Transport Department of Himachal Pradesh, said that the department is going to start e-auction for allotment of Special Registration Mark 0001 from December 04, 2023. There will be e-auction of HP63F-0001 for Regional Transport Officer, Shimla, HP33G-0001 for Registration and Licensing Authority, Mandi and HP68C-0001 for Regional Transport Officer, Dharamshala.
Under Rule 47 of the Central Motor Vehicles Act, 1989, an interested person who is a resident of Himachal or has proof of doing business in the state can apply for Special Registration Mark 0001 on the website of the Transport Department https://himachal.nic.in/transport You can apply for e-auction fancy number by going to the link given below.
The minimum bid for e-auction will start from Rs 5,00,000. The initial registration fee will be Rs 2,000, which will not be refunded. 30 percent of the minimum bid amount of Rs 1,50,000 will have to be deposited. It will be returned within five days in case of failure to anyone other than the successful bidder. Registration of applications will be from Monday, December 4, 2023 at 10:00 am to Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 5:00 pm and applicants can also participate in the bidding simultaneously. Registration will not be possible on Sunday and applicants can only participate in e-auction.
He said that the bidding will start with an increase of 20 percent of the minimum bid price of Rs 5,00,000 (Rs 1,00,000). The initial amount for bidding is Rs 6,00,000, thereafter the bid can be increased by 10 percent of the minimum price of Rs 5,00,000 which will be Rs 50,000. The result of e-auction will be declared on Sunday at 5 pm.

He said that the successful bidder will have to ensure that the outstanding amount is deposited within three days by December 13, 2023. Only after that the number will be allotted. He said that if for some reason the successful applicant is unable to obtain the special registration mark, then the 30 percent advance amount deposited by him, which amounts to Rs 1,50,000, will not be returned and will be deposited in the government treasury. This registration number will also not be given to a person living at another place. The department will rebid for this number.
