Due to increased profit booking in the afternoon, the stock market closed in the red, mid cap index also slipped.

Stock Market Closing On 5 February 2024: The first trading day of the week has proved to be very disappointing for the Indian stock market. After fluctuations throughout the day in today’s trade, the market closed in the red. Earlier in the morning the market had opened briskly. But in the afternoon there was a sharp decline in the market due to profit booking by investors. At the end of today’s trading, BSE Sensex closed at 71,731 points with a fall of 354 points and Nifty of National Stock Exchange closed at 21,771 points with a fall of 82 points.

In today’s business, stocks of Auto, Pharma, Metals, Energy, Real Estate, Healthcare, Oil and Gas sectors closed with gains. But shares of Banking, IT, Consumer Durables, Financial Sectors, Infra, FMCG sectors closed with decline. A decline has also been seen in mid cap stocks in today’s business. Whereas there was buying in small cap stocks, due to which the Nifty small cap index closed with a rise.
