Rice Price Hike: To provide relief to the common people from the inflation of rice, Modi government has launched Bharat Rice in the market. Bharat rice will be available to consumers at the price of Rs 29 per kg. Bharat Rice has been launched in packs of 5 kg and 10 kg.
Due to increase in prices of rice in retail market Lok Sabha Elections To provide relief to the common people, after Bharat Dal and Bharat Atta, the government has also launched Bharat Rice in the market. The prices of rice have increased by 15 percent in the last one year. In such a situation, to provide relief from the inflation of rice, the government has launched Bharat Rice in the retail market at a concessional rate of Rs 29 per kg.
Launching Bharat Chawal, Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Piyush Goyal said that the government is trying to ensure that everyday food items are available to the common people at affordable prices. He said that people were not able to benefit from the government’s efforts to control prices, so the government has started retail intervention under the Price Stability Fund. As part of the retail intervention, rice will be retailed at Rs 29 per kg under the Bharat brand to provide relief to middle class consumers and the poor. Every kilogram of Bharat Rice will contain five percent broken rice.
Piyush Goyal also flagged off 100 mobile vans that will sell ‘Bharat Rice’ and five kg packs were also distributed to five beneficiaries. In the first phase, FCI will provide five lakh tonnes of rice to the central reserves along with NAFED and NCCF. Rice will also be sold through e-commerce platform.
After the sharp rise in food inflation, the government is already selling pulses and flour under the name of Bharat brand. To provide relief from the inflation of pulses, chana dal is being sold in the retail market under the name of Bharat brand at Rs 60 per kg. When there was a rise in the prices of wheat, the government is selling flour at Rs 27.50 per kg to provide flour to the common people at cheap prices. And now Bharat Rice has been launched.
