Accused of writing slogans of ‘Khalistan Zindabad’ arrested in Himachal’s Chintpurni

Una. Three youths resident of Punjab have been arrested by the police for writing slogans in support of Khalistani near the world famous religious place Chintpurni Temple located in Una district of Himachal Pradesh. Una police was searching for the accused. Everyone will be presented in the court on Sunday.

According to the information, all three accused youths are said to be residents of Sangh Dhesia village of Phagwara tehsil under Jalandhar district. One of them has been identified as Phoolchand son of Ramnarayan, age 26 years, the second has been identified as Harry son of Santokh Ram, age 21 years and the third has been identified as Arjinder Singh alias Jinder son of Taranjit Singh. The police have arrested the three youths and brought them to Chintpurni and they will be presented in the court on Sunday.

It is noteworthy that these youth had written in support of Khalistan on the wall of an inn located at Talwara Bypass near the temple of Mata Chintpurni. In this regard, the police had registered an FIR on the basis of the complaint of a nearby shopkeeper and started investigating the matter. Whereas on the basis of CCTV footage, the police had also started searching for these three youths. Confirming the matter, Superintendent of Police Arjit Sen Thakur said that the police have controlled the three youths and interrogation has been started.

Earlier, such incidents had occurred twice in Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. Recently, during the World Cup matches in Dharamshala, wall writing was done in support of Khalistan. The police are still empty handed in this matter. Earlier, slogans were written on the gate of Tapovan, the assembly building of Dharamshala. The police had arrested the accused in this case.
